Why do I have to get my Camper’s medications that are in the form of TABLETS and CAPSULES through AMAC Pharmacy Services?
AMAC Pharmacy Services provides customized patient medication packaging that Tamarack requires due to the large volume of campers for safety and accountability.
How do I get my Camper’s TABLETS and CAPSULES through AMAC?
CONTACT YOUR PROVIDERS’ OFFICE and Request Prescription(s) be sent to AMAC PHARMACY SERVICES
- ELECTRONIC DELIVERY
- MAIL ORIGINAL
- PHONED OR FAXED DIRECTLY FROM DOCTOR’S OFFICE
✗ NOT ACCEPTED:
- FAXED FROM HOME, OFFICE, ETC.
What about over-the-counter medications?
Families are required to get a prescription from your provider for ALL medications taken in the form of a tablet or capsule.
What if my Camper takes medication that is NOT a TABLET or CAPSULE?
FAMILIES MAY PROVIDE ✓ CLEARLY LABELED ✓ WILL NOT EXPIRE:
✗ GUMMIES ARE NOT ACCEPTED DUE TO HEAT
How will I get billed?
Prescription medications will be billed to your prescription insurance you provide in CampDoc. You will be charged your usual co-pay. Co-pays and OTC items will be charged to your credit card that you provide.
What if I need to change a medication I already listed in CampDoc?
Do not make any changes. Please call Tamarack if you need to make changes.
What if I just got a refill?
Notify Tamarack and we will request a Vacation Override from your insurance.
What about controlled substances?
Notify Tamarack with any concerns. We will work with your doctor and insurance.
What if my Camper is going to more than one camp?
Communicate this to your doctor when requesting prescriptions.
My Camper takes over-the-counter medication. What will you send?
Standard practice is to provide generic medications.
